I bought this Curt hitch receiver for my 07 Ford Ranger XL regular cab. It fits well and is absolutely beautiful. The weld seam is absolutely perfect(they use robots to weld their simpler hitches) and it has a nice gloss black powder coat finish. First let me say that Amazon was by far the cheapest place I could find to order this part, even including next day air.Second, the installation was very easy. It took me all of 1.5 hours to install the hitch and wiring and that was with some major hangups (all car related, not hitch). One of my tow hooks was bent and I couldn't remove the carbon filter bracket, but I was still able to install the hitch and it tows my boat beautifully.Saved me at least $150 to do it myself.See all 3 customer reviews... I ordered this for my 2008 HHR. I had acquired a Thule 2-bike 1-1/4" receiver hitch bike rack, but I lacked a receiver hitch. My observations:1. This thing is heavy and solid. Probably 40 pounds.2. Easy to install. The hardest part for me was to enlarge the bolt hole in the frame. On the HHR, only the rear bolt hole needs to be enlarged and not by much. I also had to lower the muffler, but that was easier than expected. The guy who invented the little fishwire to pull the bolts through is a genius and deserves the Nobel prize in Auto Mechanics. 3. It is good once installed, but installing was a challenge. I needed a lot of levers and brut force to get the hitche installed because of how warped it was compared to the holes fro my CRV. Install was easy, I did not even had to jack up my 2011 CX9. Not the easiest to wiggle the hitch in to position while laying down on the floor but I did it by myself without any issues. 4 hands would be easier of course. took about 40 minutes to install.small bolt holes did not line up, but they are not necessary IMXO. My biggest issue is that Curt hitch does not come with small hole predrilled for accessories that use 3/8 hole mount. but given the price of the hitch, i can buy drill bit and do it mylsef.bottom line, it's solid 4 stars.See all 5 customer reviews... Got this due to the fact that the OEM Honda 1.25" hitch did not inspire confidence when used with our Yakima Double Down 4 Yakima DoubleDown 4-Bike Hitch Mount RackIt arrived quickly and was well packed (no missing hardware). The powder coat finish looked very good.It probably took a little over an hour to install, including removing the old hitch and plugging the holes with silicone. The little threaded pull wires are ingenious, and everyhting bolted up great.Fits nice and tight up to the vehicle. Much more stable when used with the bike rack. With the 2" receiver I am also now looking forward to getting a cargo rack to transport my lawn mower or snowblower.1 ...
