50 yers ago, tailer hitches were made of heavy, common steel and painted with black paint that peeled off and rusted. Often you had to drill holes in your vehicle to mount them and then cut into your vehicle's wiring for trailer lights.Guess what? While vehicles have become lighter, safer and more efficient, these trailer hitches are still boat anchors. This Curt trailer hitch looks like it was made in a 18th century blacksmith shop. The steel brackets are 5/16th inch thick. It weighs a full 35 lbs without the hitch ball. Some of the paint didn't survive the shipping. The FedEx driver refused to deliver it to my door (too heavy?), and left it sitting in the bushes by ... All CURT
